Doesn't my dad look like a young Tom Hanks?

This is a picture of me with my mom and dad

Yes, I was born and raised in Detroit, Michigan.
My dad, Darrell Ashley, was the designated broker and owner of his own real estate company: Ashley Real Estate.
My mother, Dorothea Ashley, played a huge role in running our Real Estate business.  And yet in addition to the business responsibilities, she was also our family's mentor, counselor, disciplinarian, chauffeur, chef, housekeeper, doctor, teacher, and wardrobe manager.  My mom passed away this past August, 2015--and I miss her dearly.   As the years pass, and as I grow older and wiser, I sincerely treasure the blessings in which my parents have been to me in my life.  I am very thankful for their love, guidance, and support over the years.

I have two sisters, Lynn and Carrie.  They are both over 10 years my junior.  By the time they came along, I was 11 years old and not so sure I even wanted siblings--let alone sisters!  But being the big brother wasn't so bad after all. As a matter of fact, I appreciate my sisters' love and support more and more as each day passes.

I am a man of many life-experiences.  In addition to having a wealth of life skills and experiences, I began my professional walk of life with Eastern airlines as a sky cap and later a ramp agent at Detroit Metropolitan Airport.

In 1982 I ventured into a new career as a Customer Service Agent with Southwest Airlines.  For over 17 years, I both enthusiastically and efficiently served multitudes of customers at the Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport-- both at terminal 1and terminal 4.  It is here where I learned the true value of genuine customer service!  In 1992, I began my Real Estate career while working for Southwest.  I truly appreciate all of the support and encouragement that my friends and fellow co-workers gave me during my dual-careerist adventure!

During my college years I worked on the production line at Ford Motor Company.  It is here where I discovered the systematic and yet complex processes involved with building automobiles.
